Founded in 1955, Jubilee Fellowship is the longest running non-denominational charismatic congregation in the greater LA South Bay area. Rev. Barry Griffing and his wife JoAnne have served as pastors of Jubilee Fellowship since June 1995.

In addition to his Pastoral calling, Barry is co-founder in 1978 of the International Worship Symposium, which has hosted worship events designed to equip church leaders and congregations in their high calling of “making His praise glorious” on a global scale. He has been a worship clinician at conferences in Japan, India, Colombia, Malaysia, as well as Canada and the US. Barry is a pioneer publisher of praise and worship music, having founded Zion Song Music in 1979. Zion Song Music was the original publisher of such Contemporary P and W standards as: All Hail King Jesus, Glory to the Lamb, We Bring the Sacrifice of Praise, and many more. Barry is also a published “Praise and Worship” composer/arranger.

His worship music resume also includes: vocal and instrumental conductor, worship leader, instrumentalist (guitar, clarinet, bass guitar), and recording producer.

Since becoming Jubilee’s Senior Pastor in 1995, Barry’s passion has been making disciples out of believers. To that end, he has published a number a Bible-based curricula in a question-and-answer format including HANDS-ON CHRISTIANITY (new members class), BIBLE MASTERS (a Bible survey class, including a kids’ version), END TIME TRUTHS (eschatology), MASTERING BIBLE DOCTRINE (based on the Apostles’ Creed), and several more. The Griffing’s vision is to raise up grown-up Christians who have mastered the “ships” of Christian living: worship, fellowship, stewardship, discipleship (see Our 4-hearts Logo).

Barry and JoAnne met at the University of California at Berkeley where their lives were transformed by the “Jesus People” movement happening on the USA West Coast in the late 60’s. They were married in 1969 and both graduated from Shiloh Bible College in Oakland CA in 1976. Barry & JoAnne served at Shiloh Christian Fellowship in Oakland CA in a variety of ministry roles from 1969 through 1983. They have 3 adult children and 6 grandkids.
