Welcome to the South
Bay’s oldest non-denominational charismatic
congregation, celebrating our 55th anniversary
in 2010. Our basic Bible beliefs found in the
Apostles’ Creed: the Trinity, the Creation,
Jesus our Redeemer, the Holy Spirit, the
universal Church, the need to be saved from our
sins, Christ’s physical return, and Judgment
Day.
When our
congregational founders bought property at 18015
Prairie Avenue in North Torrance, it was on the
outer edge of South Bay suburbia and dairy farms
to the northeast. There was no LAX, no San Diego Fwy or Harbor Fwy. But, by God’s sovereign plan,
Jubilee finds itself at the heart of the South
Bay, a 2-minute drive from I-405 off-ramps.
We are just 20 minutes from LAX,10 minutes
from El Camino Community College and Del Amo
Fashion Center, 5 minutes from the Galleria
Mall, 15 minutes from the Pacific Ocean, and no
more than 10-minutes from an array of different
restaurants. ALTHOUGH WE’VE BEEN HERE FORF OVER
60 YEARS, WE HAVE YET TO EXPLOIT THE CENTRALITY
OF THIS AWESOME LOCATION.
Rev. Barry and JoAnne
Griffing have served as our pastors since 1995.
Both received theology degrees from Shiloh Bible
College, Oakland CA. Barry graduated with a BA
from UC Berkeley. He founded the International
Worship Symposium in 1978 and
ZionSong Music in
1979. The Griffing’s have 3 adult children and 6
grandchildren.
